Tom started Piano and Singing lessons at the age of 10 and his love of music quickly grew. During his school and college studies he was in the top 5% of gifted and talented music students in the country which earned him a place on a prestigious workshop in New York. He went on to obtain Grade 8 in Piano and Singing before completing his Music Degree.
Tom’s passion for teaching began at an early age getting his first teaching job at the age of 15. He has conducted music workshops in nurseries and primary schools focussing on the techniques and teachings on Zoltán Kodály. As well as teaching, Tom has performed across the UK and Europe and regularly enjoys conducting, accompanying and performing with other singers and musicians.
Tom feels privileged to have worked with people of ALL ages and backgrounds.
He likes to use imaginative ways of teaching in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Whilst he feels that it is important to develop sound technique and accuracy lessons must be tailor-made to an individual and focus on what they would like to achieve. Whether you want to work towards a graded examination, an audition or just want to learn a new skill Tom will encourage confidence and progress taking it one step at a time.

"I am very happy with the progress I have made thanks to Tom, my Tutor, who has been the best teacher I have been with. He encourages me every time I have a lesson and I enjoy them so much. Thank you." - John (Adult Student)
"Tom took over from the previous tutor halfway through the year. I was pleased with the handover and the way Tom continued to build on the tuition provided at A to G. He has been methodical and detailed in his approach which is giving my daughter a great foundation for future success. I am pleased with the tuition given. Thanks." - Philip (Parent)
"I have been studying music with Tom for over a year now. During the piano lessons, he gave me detailed feedbacks and also demonstrated to me how to improve the areas that required attention. Explanations often were given that provide me with a deeper understanding of the pieces and reasons for improvement thereby linking practice to theory. At the end of my lessons, I knew what I had to do, to know and to practise in order to play competently and musically. Tom had encouraged and tutored me in the preparation for three performances... Thank you for being on such a journey with me with the aim of playing musically, improving my scales, aural and sight reading. Tom have indeed made learning fun and a pleasurable experience. He is indeed an inspiring teacher and versatile facilitator." - Rose (Adult Student)
