Will, MA
Vocal Coach & Piano
Will started his musical journey as a chorister at St Albans Cathedral but quickly moved into musical theatre, pop and jazz. Will has a Master of Arts in Music from Durham University and performance diplomas in Singing (ARSM) and Clarinet (ATCL), alongside Grade 8 piano. Whilst at university Will was a musical director and arranger for Northern Lights A Cappella who became two-time national a cappella champions and represented the UK at the world finals in New York (yes, Pitch Perfect is real!). He has been nominated for four Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards and continues to be a prolific arranger and choir director within the professional a cappella scene, working with groups both in the UK and the USA. He also works as a musical director and composer for musical theatre with his most recent work winning the award for 'Best New Musical' at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022.
Will is knowledgeable about a wide variety of genres and is keen to help each student find their own voice and style. Will emphasises the importance of vocal health in his teaching in order to allow students to develop vocal stamina, preparing them for what could eventually become a career as a professional singer. He also aspires to instil a general sense of musicianship in his pupils so that they are well-equipped to transfer their skills to any musical endeavour. Will has a huge passion for the power of the human voice and his goal at AtoG is to enable students to harness that power in a safe and fulfilling way!
